Hours:
In the evening of the tenth of January, the sixteen-years
old `Amir An-Nadr went out with his brother to offer
Al-Maghrib Salah in the mosque. When they reached the region
that is called Abraj Al-Sultan, the Israeli tanks aimed
shells at them, thereupon their bodies were scattered in
that street. `Amir and his brother were killed, whereas a
number of the passers were injured including their father.
The mother of the two sons was in her sister's hosue when
she heard the news of their death. The mother said with a
torn heart: "I shall narrate to the world so that the
people's consciousness may wake up. I ask them what the
guilt of those children was in order to be killed in such a
merciless way. I always supplicate Allah in my prayer to
make the earth shake under Israel because they deprived me
as well as the mothers of Gaza from our children."
Other Information:
If the saying "One's name reflects his
personality", all the people of the neighborhood in
which `Amir lived testify that he was up to that name.
His mother remembers his honesty and his bearing of
responsibility during the war. Two days before his death and
when his family lost water, he suggested to his mother that
he would fetch water from the neighbor's house which they
left for fear of the bombard.
Their house key was with them as a trust in order to feed
the chickens of their neighbor. He said to his mother:
"I shall fetch water from the house of Abu Muhammad
As-Sultan, but after he comes back, I will tell him that we
took two buckles of water from their house."
She narrates with full sorrow her love to this kind son,
the bereft mother said: "Parents condole their children
with no exception but there is an extra joy for some of
them. `Amir was my favorite son among his four male brothers
and the three female sisters. He was respectful, polite, and
obedient in the house and in the entire neighborhood. `Amir
was different."
His Dreams:
`Amir wished to study "the English language" in
college, but he also respected the wish of his father to
study in the faculty of "Usul Ad-Din"
(Fundamentals of the Islamic Religion).
