The Story
of Martyrdom:
During the
war, `Abdul-Qadir (12 years old) was walking with his father
in the streets without fear. When his father asked him:
"O `Abbud, are not you afraid to be killed with
me?" `Abbud would answer with confidence: "O
father, by Allah I cannot imagine how to live after
you."
Indeed,
`Abbud was killed with his father in the first day of
January 2009 as the Israeli F-16 warplanes struck their
house with a number of missiles, killing all members of the
house. This young child was one of eleven brothers who had
fallen martyrs with their mothers and fathers.
As
`Abdul-Qader did not wish to leave his parents during life,
he did not leave them in death. His brother Bilal said:
"My brother and beloved one, `Abbud “`Abdul-Qader”
the spoiled child who was beloved by all. Whenever the
Israeli forces bombed an area or executed raids, he used to
hide in the bosom of my mother and said: If I to be killed,
I will be killed in the bosom of my mother's bosom; may
Allah bestow mercy on their souls."
`Abdul-Qader
was a student in primary six. He excelled in his studies to
achieve the dream that he always dreamt of; to be like his
model example "A teacher in the university" and be
specialized in one of the Shari`ah sciences. His father gave
him all the means to achieve this dream. Sheikh Nizar always
followed up `Abdul-Qader in school despite his scientific
and practical concerns. However, the dream was taken away by
the Israeli air missiles that turned it into a mirage.
`Abdul-Qader
was characterized by his wonderful manners: caring, kind,
affectionate, and modest. His mother used to buy him the
most beautiful clothes, but he refuses to wear them and asks
how could he wear those clothing and his colleagues could
not have the suitable circumstances to buy of the like. His
brother Bilal added: "My father imprinted many of good
manners in him. `Abdul-Qader was the most religious among my
brothers and wished to memorize the Glorious Qur’an, but
he had been killed before he could make his dream come
true."
`Abbud —
as he liked to be called — has got great concern from his
parents. His brother’s wife said about him: “He was an
innocent child in every sense of the word meaning, as he was
very funny. Everyone loved to listen and talk to him and he
loved to play with the children of his age as he received a
large share of care."
