| The Story of Martyrdom:
In her courtyard, Sabah `Ali `Awad Abu Daqqah (the mother of the martyr) was sitting waiting his return, but he did not come back. She keeps silent for some moments then she cries out of pain and sorrow for those who had passed away. She says: "The condition was the same since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza. The sky was full of warplanes and striking was everywhere, but I did not expect that my child would be hit.”
She added: “Muhammad was outside the house and when he came back, he asked the permission of his father to benefit from the truce time to gather food for the animals. Unlike his habit, nobody asked him to go, but, on the contrary, when we asked him and his brother to fetch food for the animals, he used to refuse but that time it was his own idea.”
She cries while continue her speech about his last moments of his life saying: “His father made him wait for his brother Ibrahim who was at his uncle’s house. For my surprise, Ibrahim did not object to that and went together to fetch the food, but unfortunately they were martyred together; may Allah have mercy on their souls!
The mother continued the story of Muhammad’s martyrdom painfully saying: “Muhammad did not go for a long time, but only few minutes then we heard the news of his martyrdom. We heard the sound of bombing, which was terrible, my heart was shaking, and I kept supplicating Allah to save those who were hit in that bombing. I did not know that it was my son Muhammad. My son did not carry a missile or direct to the borders to bomb him with a land-to-land missile. Thanks be to Allah for everything!
Muhammad and his family refused to go out of the house. When everyone was calling them to leave the house to escape the bombing, they insisted to stay. The mother said: “He used to say: we will not leave our house even if they destroy it on our heads.” She added: “In addition to his brave situations, Muhammad was so kind-hearted, loved by everyone, and all the people were asking about him. Until now, many people ask about him because they did not believe that he was martyred. Muhammad was so popular by his colleagues and his teachers. He was very social and had his own point of view which he defended bravely as long as he was right.”
The mother always recalls the actions of Muhammad and his words are still knocking the ears of his mother. She said: “I imagine him alive and singing: “O neighborhood,” he was singing it with his warm voice and sometimes I hear him singing: “We always will be firm,”” She cries and continues: I remember what I was saying to him: “O my son, I hope to see you grown up like those young men. He was always answering me: why, am I still young?”
“His dreams were simple and full of good for his family and to people. His dreams were so small as he was.” His mother added: “He dreamt to grow up to finish his university study, get a good job, and save every shekel to build a big house to encompass all his family members: his parents, his grandmother, and all his siblings. He used to say: I hope I could build a house for my brothers. By Allah, O Mama, I shall build a big house and give everyone of my four siblings a floor in order not to be far from one another and to buy a car to drop you off wherever you want. O my beloved son Muhammad, may Allah accept you among the martyrs!”
