The Story of Martyrdom:

The mother of `Abd As-Sattar was astonished when she saw him wearing his new clothes. He told her that he would be ready to meet any of her needs. He went out to the alley to play with his cousins and neighbors “Al-Bananir” then he accompanied his cousins: Muhammad and `Abd Al-Wahhab to fetch the sugar cane from a near place. When the three kids approached the agricultural land of Al-Astal family, an Israeli reconnaissance warplane launched one of its missiles at them killing them all.

In his last days, `Abd As-Sattar was acting strangely. His mother said: Abd As-Sattar was acting strangely in his last days; he insisted on sleeping in my arms although he used to sleep by his brothers’ side. Indeed, his mother responded to his request and in the second morning, he woke up and prepared breakfast for me.

Abd As-Sattar was attached to his mother a lot. He used to accompany her to the house of his grandmother and when she decided not to take him, he told her that she had a certain time to come back, otherwise he would follow her there because he cannot stay away from her. Today, the mother goes to the grandmother’s house alone, as usual, looking right and left searching for `Abd As-Sattar who always accompanied her. The mother said: “`Abd As-Sattar had a different personality from his siblings. I loved him so much; he was my right hand everywhere.”

When the mother of `Abd As-Sattar was about to deliver `Abd As-Sattar, his grandfather took a nap and saw a dream which included that the mother would beget a boy and his name would be `Abd As-Sattar and, indeed, he was. `Abd As-Sattar’s father was attached to him so much and he was the first name he uttered when he entered the house and when he needed anything. Today, and after the martyrdom of `Abd As-Sattar, whenever he entered the house, he would call upon `Abd As-Sattar. Two days ago, he entered the house and searched for `Abd As-Sattar to give him some fresh dates. He said: “O `Abd As-Sattar, come and take the fresh dates.”

Abd As-Sattar was so much interested in playing and excelled in the popular games such as “Al-Bananir”. His mother said: “After his martyrdom, I found a sack of Al-Bananir which `Abd As-Sattar saved in the kitchen. Allah is Sufficient for us, and how fine a trustee He is! They killed him while he was a child who did not know anything in the whole world but playing. He would not have done anything to them."

Some days ago, the mother of `Abd As-Sattar died and when his siblings went to the cemetery to bury her, they went to `Abd As-Sattar’s grave, surrounded it, and kept weeping for that dear kid who had left them. His mother said: He was so obedient and very generous. When he obtained a Shekel due to his work in the field, he would give me half of it. I will not see any kind person like him despite his young age.”

His mother said: “`Abd As-Sattar was shy to refuse a request for anyone, therefore, I never heard him saying: "no" for anyone ever.”
