| Martyrdom
Account
On January
15, 2009, Bara’ clung to his mother under the ceiling
which the nearby explosions caused it to vigorously shake.
Bara’ got fed up with the war atmosphere which deprived
him of playing in the adjacent alley. Yet, they were an easy
target for the rockets of the Israeli army. On that day the
Israeli artillery stationed at the Strip border shelled
their humble house with a land-to-land rocket, thereupon,
Bara’, his mother, his grandmother and his sister were
martyred.
Bara’,
the one and a half year old child, was martyred leaving to
his father, who had survived that atrocious Israeli crime, a
lot of memories. He was dear to his heart, He wished Bara’
would finish his studies and go to university to fulfill his
father’s dream of seeing him an engineer or a physician.
His aunt
says, “I used to come over to visit them every month. I
was happy to see that lovely and united family. They loved
each other very much. My brother loved his son a lot. His
grief was profound when he lost him. We can do nothing but
pray for patience. May Allah almighty be our supporter!”
His
uncle’s wife, who is also their neighbor, says, “When we
heard the explosion we went out. We saw the torn bodies
everywhere. The situation was extremely terrible. I did not
believe what I was seeing. They were children and women
only. They were horrendously punished because they were
staying, like us, intimidated and terrified. The occupation
forces denied them even living in fear, so, they killed
them.”
