Martyrdom Account:

Many families in Gaza thought they were far away from the shelling danger during the Israeli aggression on Gaza, so, they had not left their houses in pursuit of safer havens. One of these families is the Talaat Hammouda Family which was living in an agricultural area with two other houses only neighboring theirs. On January 11, the occupation forces launched a torrent of missiles at this house. The residents used all means of calling for help but in vain. One of the missiles directly hit the family, so Mohammed and Faris were martyred after bleeding for many hours. Their father used the local broadcasting station in order to save his family. Mohammed and Faris's injuries were fatal, so both died quickly. Faris's mother was rescued though she was seriously injured.

Mohammed kept reciting some Quran verses while dying. The last words he uttered were "possessor of mankind", then he had gone. Mohammed was a great boy as his step mother says. She brought him up after his biological mother dying while giving birth to him. He was a student in the first grade secondary. He was top in his school. He had been top since he was in the first grade elementary. The renowned Palestinian man of letters, Marwan Kanfani, honored him in his first year of schooling. His step mother says, " Thank God, Mohammed's learning estimate was never below 97%. He dreamed of becoming an engineer. He could not wait to fulfill his dream, so, he got some engineering books from a friend of his brother's while he was still in his intermediate stage, and too young for that. "She added that in his last month, he changed a lot. He looked young and behaved like a man. He was superb. He was also conservative; never accepted to allow his sister Kariman who was thirteen to go the park without wearing Hijab. Nada, the daughter of Mohammed's sister (three years ) remained for two month in a drastic psychological condition for losing Mohammed. She cried most of the time and deprived her parents of sleep because she wanted "uncle Mohammed". Her father had to take her to Mohammed's tomb hoping that would alleviate her grief and pain.
