The Story of Martyrdom:

The atmosphere of war on Gaza Strip burdened the heart of Nadia (13 years) with sorrow. The TVs did not stop transferring the scenes of the victims – whose hearts were yesterday full of life and hope. She started to feel like them where her smile turned into tears and hopes of survival had turned into a big illusion, under the heavy warplane flying over her house in order to target Az-Zaytoun Neighborhood.

Nadia decided to get out a little from the wave of bitterness and pain, so she went to the roof of their home in the company of her cousin Muhammad and some of her siblings, and lit fire to make tea. However, the tanks did not give them much time to boil water and get the tea ready. A tank shell exploded her body and the shrapnel hit the kids who were on the roof. So, tea was mixed with blood.

As for her cousin Muhammad (Hamoudah), a piece of shrapnel separated his elbow from his arm. Her sister Safa’ was hit in the head. Abeer, her other sister, was hit in her feet. One of the shrapnel penetrated the head of Nadia, but she did not pass away at once. She sought the help of (Hamoudah) but he did not answer her as she did with Safa’ and `Abeer. She tried to prejudge the wounds and shouted at the highest tone perhaps someone would help her, but no one heard. As soon as the family heard the sound of the shelling, they went downstairs — thinking that their children are downstairs. In a few seconds, another shell fell on the place, leaving Nadia covered in blood. The shrapnel pierced her back and destroyed her kidneys and heart. The blood flowed of her body until she passed away to declare the final destination of that girl who had no guilt.

As a butterfly in the spring, she moved in the house as if the house rooms were flowers. She moved from a room to another to tidy it and spread her joy in it. Her mother described her by Kind, Soft, and quiet. Her mother and father loved her more than everything else.

The mother continued her speech about memories saying: "When she was hard to her younger brother, she took him in her chest to pat at him and take care of him.

Her dreams were innocent like her beautiful face, such as: joining high school then college to get a suitable job to prove herself then comes the knight dream on his white horse to take her away to build a new family which she would fill with care, love and warm feelings. Simple dreams but according to the occupation forces and their violation to the human rights of the occupied Palestine, they were impossible.
