The Story of Martyrdom:

In the east of Gaza and in the nearest area to the Israeli invasion, Mu`ayyad Abu Wady carried some of the furniture and moved with his family to a house of one of his relatives with the first days of war. He went there to seek refuge from the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza Strip.

Mu`ayyad, the father of the martyr lived hard times with his relatives because of the war. Those hard times did not pass easily but because of the family atmosphere that covered the place and because his children were with him. He wished the war would end to able to return safely with his family, but what happened on the 4th of January was not as he wished. That day was very painful where news came that more and more martyrs are falling everyday. There, nearby the Sha`fut area, the mother of Baha’ sat with some women of her relatives to knead and bake to feed the young and the old who escaped the danger. While doing so, her son Baha’ came asking for some money to buy "chips", but she refused to give him because she did not have much money to buy chips for all the kids. In a few seconds, a reconnaissance warplane fired one of its missiles at the fourth floor where the family members were living causing Baha’ to die as martyr at once.

His father said: "Baha’ was very kind and he had a special status in my heart. As for his mother, I only supplicate Allah to grant her patience for that great loss." He asked about the pain that a mother may suffer for losing her son after his head was smashed then she saw him lying on the ground covered in blood and she could not do anything to save him. The mother said: "He came to ask for money to buy something then I saw the missile approaching then a piece of the shrapnel smashed his little head leaving him on the ground covered in blood.

Baha’ was a student in primary two where he got a medium level of education, but he was outstanding in his neighborhood and was loved by all, especially his brothers. Ahmad who was the closest to him misses him and Muhammad remembers how he used to play football, "Al Bananir" (a popular game for children in which they play with colored glass balls), and used to run in this agricultural district with Baha’. As for Ziyad, his younger brother, he repeats that Baha’ is in heaven and in great bliss.

His grandmother said: "Baha’ was the best of his brothers and was the fastest in meeting the needs of the house. I loved him so much, he was so close to me, and I miss him very much today."
