| The Story of Martyrdom:
Saher felt a pain in his back, so his mother decided to take the risk and take him to doctor in the truce time that the Israeli occupation forces declared. The mother of Saher walked with a neighbor and Basmah (6 years old) joined them and when they approached the clinic that is subordinated to the United Nation Refugees and Work Agency, the mother of Saher found Basmah tired of walking, so she carried her for the last few steps. In seconds, the Israeli occupation forces struck that little girl with a missile that caused her to fall from the hand of her mother and her head was smashed while her mother's arm was injured. The shock was too hard for the mother of Basmah who was looking for her daughter who was alive seconds ago, but now she is covered in blood and no one was near to help her.
The mother said: "She fell as a martyr when I was holding her. She insisted to join me and she refused the five shekels my neighbor offered her to stay. The motive behind Basmah’s determination to catch up with me was fear because she feared a lot the sounds of explosions that were heard all over Bayt Hanun. She said to her mother: "I am scared, Mom", and her mother was trying to calm her down while looking at her teeth cracking of fear."
The last moments the mother of Basmah spent with her daughter were so precious to her. The mother said about that day: "The day on which she passed away was weird. She swept the floor of the house and for the first time, she washed the dishes and I was happy for that, but she was martyred and left me with pains and illness. Whenever I remembered the moments of her martyrdom, I almost go crazy because of what I had seen.” The mother added: she was so smart but got sick at the beginning of her life where she underwent three surgeries and when I started to see her a sound and healthy girl, those criminals killed her."
Basmah was so happy to finish her preliminary stage in the kindergarten and told her mother that she look forward to join school and wear the school uniform. Her mother said: “She had a great ambition in spite of her young age. Basmah passed away and took her dream; everything beautiful in our house had gone away."
